The Ivan Franko National University of Lviv invites you to the International Seminar on Physics and Chemistry of Solids in Lviv, June 6 – 9, 2010. The XVI Seminar continues the tradition of the Ukrainian-Polish seminar series which is held annually in one of these two countries.

Seminar Scope covers all aspects related to:

  Acceptance of abstracts and the 2nd announcement – May 15, 2010
  Manuscript submission – June 7, 2010
Call For Abstracts:
Abstracts, in English, are to be submitted electronically via the seminar web site. One-page abstracts must fit A4 page and can be prepared in Word 2000 or later versions. Please, follow Instructions for Authors in “template.doc” which is available for downloading at the seminar web site. Please don’t forget to mark in the Registration procedure the type of presentation you prefer (Oral or Poster).


Seminar Fees:

All participants must register and pay the Seminar fee
Regular (accommodation in a double room shared with other participant)  180 EUR
Advanced (accommodation in a single room)     210 EUR

Fee must be paid in cash to the Seminar secretariat at the registration desk on arrival.

Registration fee for participants from Ukraine is of 200 UAH and it covers:
Abstract Book, Welcome Party, Coffee breaks
Seminar fee must be paid by postal transfer before May 25, 2010.

The Opening of Conference:
June, 7 from 10.00 to 10.30 in Assembly Hall of University, Universitetska Str., 1
Ordinary Sessions:
Will take place at the Physics Department, Kyryla i Mephodiy Str., 8
Scientific Program:
  The scientific program of each session will consist of invited lectures (30 min), oral presentations (15 min) and a poster session. All contributions will be in English.
  Oral and poster presentations will be selected on the basis of the submitted abstracts. Overhead projectors and equipment for computer presentation will be provided by the organizers.
  The poster size should be of A1 format.
Seminar Proceedings:
The Seminar proceedings will be published in the International journal “Chemistry of Metals and Alloys” (http://www.chemetal-journal.org/).
Venue
The seminar will take place in the main building of The University (June 07), Universitetska Str. 1 and at the Faculty of Physics (June 08–09), Kyryla i Mefodiya Str., 8a.
In June there is a high tourist season in Lviv with a rich offer of various cultural events. The weather is generally quite pleasant (day temperatures 20–25 0C), but umbrella is anyway recommended.
